Welcome Back to School!

Welcome Back to the 2013-14 school year!  I am very excited to teach you about investing, banking, filing tax returns, and credit.  All of this information may not sound appealing to you in right now but TRUST ME, you will NEED all of this information as soon as you start working, start saving, and want to start investing.  We will go over various topics such as learning about stocks, budgeting, bank accounts, types of banks (not all banks are the same ;-)) and credit.  Understanding the importance of credit and how to use credit is going to be one of the most beneficial pieces of information you will gain from this class.

This blog has been created as an online tool for you to post questions, comments and will also be used as a "homework" tool when there is a topic that I want you to investigate outside of class.

Along with this blog, you can follow me on twitter I will be updating twitter on a weekly basis about extra credit, quiz, project and test information.  So it is very important that you keep up with it.

The first opportunity for extra credit for the first quarter is to bring in the following items.  You never know when you'll need extra credit, so you might as well start now!  This might now sound like a lot of points but they will help at midterm and quarter grades!

10-12 Pack of Pencils = 5 pts (limit 2)
Kleenex = 5 pts (limit 2)
Markers/Colored Pencils = 3 pts (limit 2)
Glue Sticks = 2 Pts (limit 2 packs)

Do you budget your finances?

In this chapter, we discussed how and what items you should budget for.  Create a list of items that we haven't discussed in class that you could budget for.  Remember this list CANNOT be anything that you are currently researching for in our budget activity.  This is extra credit and you can earn up to 10 extra points.  Please turn it in on a separate piece of paper Monday morning before class starts!  Have a great weekend!

As always, use this forum if you think of a question and we are outside of class.
